Disney Dreamlight Valley
Disney has decided to grace gamers with a new free-to-play game called Disney Dreamlight Valley. It's being praised on TikTok as a game that will replace Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. What exactly is this new game and why are people loving & hating it?
Gameloft revealed Disney Dreamlight Valley and announced it would be a life-Sim adventure game that allows its players to create their own characters, village, and build friendships with some of Disney's iconic characters. The main characters you can hope to see in the game are Ariel, Simba, Moana, Mickey, Goofy, and more. It focuses on helping characters from the Disney and Pixar universe to recover their memories and create new ones.
Players can thank titles such as Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley for giving them inspiration towards this world building game.

Explore Disney's dream world and try to help a cast of familiar faces recover their memories. Sounds easy enough, so, what's the problem?
The game is free-to-play and that alone is problematic enough. People are worried that Disney will create a pay-to-play atmosphere. Micro transactions aren't uncommon in video games, however, they can ruin your experience when you need to pay for resources to advance. Will we have to pay for resources to build these worlds? Will you have to pay in order to meet some of the more popular characters to help them with missions?
I'm not sure.
I will say that visually this game looks promising. I love seeing classic Disney characters interact with my character. That's why I love Kingdom Hearts because I get to battle nefarious villains and work towards a common goal with them. In the trailer you see Ursula, so clearly, there will be villains, but how much action will this game have? It's clearly a game designed for people who love simulation games such as Animal Crossing.
If you're wanting to buy the game you're going to have to wait a little. It's set to be released in 2023 on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X & S, Xbox One, PC and Mac. There also will be an early access opportunity for people who have purchased a Founders pack, or any Xbox Game pass members.
